An initiative of the Center for
the Defense of Free Enterprise in cooperation with the Congress of Racial Equality. Paul Driessen, Director. |
March 24, 2004
Another major university gets the message.
Project Director Paul Driessen continued his nationwide swing to expose the problem of eco-imperialism.
Presentation
to student body:
University of Wisconsin, Madison
Sponsored by
the Collegians For A Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT)
Paul Driessen told his audience that, “Worldwide, over a billion people still don’t have access to safe drinking water. Over 2 billion still don’t have access to electricity or sanitation. Life for these people would be infinitely better if they simply had abundant, reliable, affordable electricity.”
Director Driessen showed how wealthy, secure American celebrities inject themselves into the lives of millions they neither know nor care about "to keep them in their place so they won't hurt nature" and never let them enjoy the safety and comfort of a developed nation.
Again, audience members remained to ask questions and continue learning about eco-imperialism - for more than an hour.
Paul Driessen's 2-hour talk and discussion were taped by C-SPAN and subsequently broadcast on its Book-TV program.

Eco-Imperialism: Green Power,
Black Death
from April 10, 2004
Paul Driessen discusses his book, "Eco-Imperialism," at the University of
Wisconsin in Madison. Mr. Driessen argues that many of the global policies
supported by U.S. environmentalists increase the misery of poor people living in
the Third World. He argues that large dam projects, genetically modified crops,
and pesticides like DDT, all popular targets for U.S. environmentalists, do more
to improve the lives of the poor in places like South Asia and Africa than most
people realize. The talk was hosted by the Madison chapter of Collegians for a
Constructive Tomorrow. Includes Q&A.
Next: March 29 On to Washington, D.C.
